PARTNERSHIP WITH GRVD
The hospital is privilege to be associated with German Rotary volunteer Doctors (GRVD) since 2011. The main objectives of the collaboration are to build capacity to improve specialist services to the rural population. Since the collaboration, GRVD has supported the facility with 40 volunteers who spent time working to provide and improve healthcare and building capacity of our resident clinicians (staff) to sustain services initiated under the collaboration. Prominent among these include the following;
Training And Development:
*There has been an exchange programme of which about 40 Germany volunteers visit the hospital to render various technical services to both patients and staff of the hospital.
*About 20 staff both (medical and non-medical) were sent to Germany for technical training to build capacity.
*Establishment of Emergency Training Centre.
Infrastructural Development
*GRVD renovated and fully furnished the maternity block which compresses of Lying-In, Intensive care, OBGY and Nicu.
*Renovation of Accident and Emergency Department with equipment.
*Theatre was expended from three (3) operating rooms to six (6) operating rooms with equipment.
*Endoscopy And Diagnostic Unit with recovery ward has also been established
*Construction of new Eye Clinic with equipment.
We appreciate the immense contribution of GRVD in terms of funding, supply of equipment, transfer of knowledge and skills to our staff.
